How to dress up the cake table.

Few decisions are as fun as choosing your wedding cake.

As a designer it is my job to help you through the process. All the decisions are yours.
To get a sense of what you want it is easiest to surf the net and my web site. Collect pictures of cakes or parts of cakes that strike your fancy. What is it about that cake that you like? Is it the way the tiers are stacked? Round or square, or hexagon? All of these parts can be mixed and matched.

Budget: Let's face it, we all try to live within our budgets. It is an important part of the planning process for any wedding. After you decide on fondant or butter cream you can estimate the price of your cake by multiplying the number of guest you expect by the price per serving. (all the prices are listed on the other pages of my web site) You can also supplement with extra sheets to alter the price. All of these options can be worked out at your consultation...... which is free........AND includes cake. :)

The consultation: I can provide you with more specific details for your plans if you bring along the following: Pictures of ideas you like, (or you can email them to me in advance), color swatches, date and times of the wedding and reception, venue location and address.
One of the simplest things you can do to enhance your reception is to dress up the cake table.
I have options for rentals that are available to you or you can build your own or ask the venue about options they would have for you to use.
From the venue or make your own:
At the very least, the venue would have crates that can be covered in cloth to add height. Bring your own cloths in your colors to add more of your syyle to tie everything together.
You can use just about anything to create a different look to your cake. If you have separate cakes of different sizes you can cluster them around on a table to make the cake look bigger.  Keep in mind that anything you do use under a cake must be weighted and wide enough to hold the cake.
Available from me:
I have many options for you to rent..... at a fair price too.
Candle sticks: There is a picture on my wedding cakes pages that shows this idea. If it matches your decor it can be a nice addition.
Fountain: I have the traditional fountain set with either the Grecian pillars or the smooth clear pillars. Add your flowers around the base to finish the look or leave out the fountain and just use the stand to add height and fill the space with something personal to you.
Glass blocks: These look nice with lights and tull around them.  You could buy these yourself or you can rent mine for less than what you can buy them for. Unless you have another use for them you can save some money renting them.
Silver pleatue: Always an elegant addition.
Puffy pillow base: I made this for a bride that had a specific cake design. It basically looks like a round pillow in white satin. Not for everyone but great for some depending on your decor.
Tiered stands: I have the tiered stands in any size and configuration.
I hope this gives you some ideas that are easy and inexpensive. Feel free to email or call with any questions. I can also email you pictures of any of these ideas.
