Q. What flavors do you offer? A. I am not limited to the flavors of cakes and fillings.
I do not charge extra for a flavor cake unless it contains a lot of extra nuts. The most common flavors are chocolate,
marble and white... but why stop there? Lemon, Strawberry, Red Velvet, Carrot, Classic Yellow and Butter Pecan are
very nice also. I also offer cheesecake!
Q: How much notice do you require? A: I can take
an order as far out as you want to plan it. Wedding cakes are booked as early as 8 months or more for busy seasons. Other
cakes are filled in as often as possible. Because I am a one person shop I will not take on more than I believe I can handle.
I would not want to sacrifice quality.
Q. What is your price scale? A. Every cake is different.
Extra fillings, ingredients, fondant coverings or gumpaste flowers all apply to the cost of a cake.. All cakes are
priced individually. My base prices are on my "Price List" page.
Q: Do you deliver? A:
I can deliver if needed. A trip fee is applied depending on the distance. It is not suggested to do this for wedding cakes.
Q: What about wedding cakes? A: The serving chart I use allows for a more realistic
cutting guide. You will get more cake compared to what other businesses are offering. My price for wedding cakes start
at $3.50 for butter-cream and $4.50-$6.50 for fondant. I do use a contract for all wedding cake orders that clearly spell
out all the details for deposits, rentals, color choices, delivery schedule and obligations for all parties involved.
Q:What if you have an emergency when my cake is due? A:I do have fellow decorator friends
that can step in and cover me in the event that I become sick or injured. All situations are taken into consideration
to make sure you are comfortable ordering from a home business.
Q: When is payment due for
orders? A: Wedding cakes and other larger orders have a payment schedule and a $75.00 non-refundable
deposit. The balance is due three weeks before the due date. Regular cakes priced under $100.00 are paid in
full at the time of ordering. I offer PayPal as an option for payment or I can take checks if ordered with more than
two weeks notice. Cash is always good. I am required to collect sales tax. Cancellations will forfeit
the deposit.
Q: Can you copy my napkin, cards, photos, etc? A:
I do abide by all copyright laws. I will not reproduce any images that are copyrighted. The fines for getting caught
are $5,000-$10,000+. In most cases I CAN however use the overall design to create a cake that goes with your
theme. Photos have separate requirements.
Q: What are the requirements for photos that
have copyrights? A. Any professional photos will require a one time photo release for that cake order. The
photo studios should be familiar with cake edible images and can provide that for you.
